Christians object to LGBT behaviors, based on moral grounds. The moral standard we use, is the one provided by the Torah, or the Law of Moses. The Law of Moses was given to the Jews, to help enable them to live righteous and fulfilling lives. The Law specified a number of behaviors to avoid. These behaviors included LGBT, which the law considered abominations.(Abominations are among the worst forms of sin people can commit.) The following scriptures cite some LGBT behaviors, and admonishes abstinence from them by individuals.
Leviticus 18:22
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
Leviticus 20:13 ESV
If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Romans 1:26-28 ESV
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the me likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
The following scripture describes a society, in which LGBT behavior becomes extremely prevalent, and the resultant punishment that ensued.
Genesis 19:1-29 NIV
Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed
19 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. 2 “My lords,” he said, “please turn aside to your servant’s house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning.”
“No,” they answered, “we will spend the night in the square.”
3 But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast, and they ate. 4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. 5 They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”
6 Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him 7 and said, “No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing. 8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.”
9 “Get out of our way,” they replied. “This fellow came here as a foreigner, and now he wants to play the judge! We’ll treat you worse than them.” They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door.
10 But the men inside reached out and pulled Lot back into the house and shut the door. 11 Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness so that they could not find the door.
12 The two men said to Lot, “Do you have anyone else here—sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here, 13 because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the Lord against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it.”
14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry[a] his daughters. He said, “Hurry and get out of this place, because the Lord is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.
15 With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished.”
16 When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them. 17 As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!”
18 But Lot said to them, “No, my lords,[b] please! 19 Your[c] servant has found favor in your[d] eyes, and you[e] have shown great kindness to me in sparing my life. But I can’t flee to the mountains; this disaster will overtake me, and I’ll die. 20 Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it—it is very small, isn’t it? Then my life will be spared.”
21 He said to him, “Very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of. 22 But flee there quickly, because I cannot do anything until you reach it.” (That is why the town was called Zoar.[f])
23 By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land. 24 Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land. 26 But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 Early the next morning Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the Lord. 28 He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.
29 So when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.
Those unfamiliar with Christianity and the Bible, can see the basis for Christians’ moral objections to LGBT behaviors and ideology (the theoretical justification for the behaviors). Quite simply, LGBT behaviors are among the worst sins people can commit, and when the behaviors become pervasive in a society, the society inevitably becomes destroyed.
Non-Christians may ask, “Why should we adhere to Christians’ standard of morality, rather than the Left’s?” For one, the Christian standard of morality was what our country was founded on, and that is why our country has prospered for so long. Second, Christian (or more broadly, Judeo-Christian) morality, is coincident with what our forebears called natural law.
(Note: natural law was alluded to by the Apostle Paul, in the following scripture:
Romans 1
18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.)
In the above scripture, Paul points out that God’s law and natural law, are one and the same. This means that objective morality (morality which can be discerned by observing how the world works around the affairs of men) is one and the same as Christian morality. This means that Christian morality, is not a random set of rules concocted by a God with an inflated ego. Rather, Christian morality (which was given by God) incorporates a set of rules, when lived by, gives you overall the best outcomes in life.
Lets examine some of the commandments from the Ten Commandments, which most societies regard as being objectively moral:
5. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
6. Thou shalt not steal.
7. Thou shalt not kill.
8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Note the following:
- If a man was to sleep with another man’s wife, this would likely lead to near term pleasure, but would in the long run, also likely lead to the upheaval of the two sinners’ lives, and those around them. There would be a good chance that this would lead to the break up of two families, which would plunge the family members’ lives (especially the kids) into despair.
- Stealing often times lead to short term pleasure (over acquiring something greatly desired), but often times leads to you being punished, by people no longer trusting you, being stigmatized, being fired from a job, being incarcerated, etc.
- Murdering someone may seem advantageous in the short run, but you will likely suffer significant psychological harm (like not being able to get the memory or related thoughts out of your head). There is a good chance you will suffer retribution in the form of incarceration, or revenge from someone from your victim’s life, or general life Karma.
- Lying about someone can seem advantageous in the short run: like getting revenge on a person; having someone (other than yourself) take the blame for something that went wrong, etc. But when the truth about the matter gets discovered, which usually, eventually happens, it will result in you being resented, not being trusted, etc., and this can cost you jobs, and social opportunities in the future.
We can deduce from above, that objective morality, is a natural set of rules on how to conduct your life, which when followed, likely provides you overall, with the best outcomes in life. Conversely, objective immorality, is the breaking of a natural set of rules on how to conduct your life, which when done, results in you likely experiencing significantly bad outcomes in life.
Now, let’s examine the elevated incidents and risks of physical and psychological disease, that plague the LGBT community. The following is an excerpt from this article:
‘One fact the dominant media is censoring or ignoring is that the anal cancer rate for male homosexuals is way above normal, maybe as high as 50 times normal, according to a 1982 study. And a 1997 study again drew attention to the "strong association between anal cancer and male homosexual contact."
You probably already know the homosexual community has been decimated by AIDS. But you may not know that, as another study has found: 1) 80% of syphilitic patients are homosexual; 2) about 33% of homosexuals are infected with active anorectal herpes simplex viruses; 3) chlamydia infects 15% of homosexuals; and 4) "a host of parasites, bacterial, viral, and protozoan are all rampant in the homosexual population."
Another study found that: 1) amoebiasis, a parasitic disease, afflicts around 32% of homosexuals; 2) giardiasis, also a parasitic disease, afflicts 14% of homosexuals (NO heterosexuals in the study were found to have either amoebiasis or giardiasis); 3) gonorrhea afflicts 14% of homosexuals; and 4) 11% of homosexuals had anal warts.
According to another study, anorectal sepsis, a potentially toxic bacterial infection, is four times more common in homosexual than heterosexual men. And another study found that the "prevalence of EBV type 2 among homosexual men was significantly higher than it was among heterosexual men (39% vs. 6%)." (EBV type 2 is the Epstein-Barr type 2 virus, which virus causes infectious mononucleosis and is associated with two types of cancer: Burkitt's lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.)
And other studies have found abnormally high rates of hepatitis B infection, prostate cancer, colitis, enteritis, proctitis, and proctocolitis in homosexual men.
An article in the pro-homosexual New York Times noted that a young male homosexual has about a 50% chance of getting H.I.V. by middle age and that the incidence of gonorrhea among homosexual men rose 74% between 1993 and 1996.
The Chicago Department of Public Health reported that the percentage of Chicago AIDS diagnoses connected to homo/bisexual men increased from 37% in year 2000 to 44% in 2003; and in mid-2006 it also reported that homo/bisexual men accounted for approximately 73% of Chicago syphilis cases in the year 2005. And a September 2010 report from the Centers for Disease Control titled "HIV among Gay, Bisexual and Other Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM)" noted: "Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) represent approximately 2% of the US population, yet are the population most severely affected by HIV and are the only risk group in which new HIV infections have been increasing steadily since the early 1990s....At the end of 2006, more than half (53%) of all people living with HIV in the United States were MSM or MSM-IDU [injection drug user]." And according to a CDC report, 75% of syphilis cases in this country were found in homo/bisexuals in 2012.
Regarding HIV/AIDS, the HIV/AIDS rate for homo/bisexual males, even after all the years of warnings, continues to be so abnormally high that the Sept./Oct. 2012 edition of The Gay & Lesbian Review actually described HIV/AIDS as a "Gay Disease" and "primarily a 'gay' problem" and noted that "Gay men are sixty times more likely than heterosexual men...to be diagnosed with HIV." The June/July 2019 issue of the LGBT publication The Advocate acknowledged that "Gay and bisexual men continue to account for the largest portion (about 70 percent) of new [HIV] diagnoses" ("Ending HIV in America" by Jacob Anderson-Minshall, p. 26).
According to a 2015 report by the Centers for Disease Control, Special Populations: Since the mid-90s, "increased rates of early syphilis (primary, secondary, or early latent), gonorrhea, and chlamydial infection and higher rates of sexual risk behaviors have been documented among MSM [men who have sex with men] in the United States and virtually all industrialized countries....Approximately two-thirds of the cases of primary and secondary syphilis diagnoses in the United States are in MSM....MSM remain at disproportionate risk for HIV acquisition and transmission in the United States....HPV infection and HPV-associated conditions (e.g., anogenital warts and anal squamous intraepithelial lesions) are highly prevalent among MSM."
According to a 2018 CDC report: Between 2013 and 2017 "Primary and secondary syphilis diagnoses increased 76 percent (from 17,375 to 30,644 cases). Gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM) made up almost 70 percent of primary and secondary syphilis cases where the gender of the sex partner is known in 2017."
Re HPV, which can cause anal cancer, this from a Dr. Gary Bucher of the Anal Dysplasia Clinic-Midwest, quoted in the Windy City Times, an LGBT newspaper in Chicago: "About 95 percent of HIV-positive MSM [men who have sex with men] 'will always have HPV in their bottoms....About 60 percent of gay men who are negative will also always have it in their bottoms'" (Matt Simonette, "Physician speaks on anal cancer risks, screenings," Nov. 29, 2017, p. 14).
According to an April 2021 CDC report: "Gay and Bisexual Men Make up nearly half of all 2019 primary and secondary syphilis cases. [And] Gonorrhea rates were 42 times that of heterosexual men in some areas."
"The U.K.'s Health Security Agency said Monday [June 13, 2022] that there were now 470 cases of monkeypox across the country [England], with the vast majority in gay or bisexual men" ("UK finds 140 more cases of monkeypox as outbreak spreads," Chicago Tribune, June 14, 2022, section 2, p. 4). (Yet another disease, like AIDS and syphilis, which helps demonstrate that male homo/bisexual behaviors are relatively so unsanitary and unsafe that they are the main vectors for a number of diseases. Makes you wonder what it's going to take to wake them up.)
We'll conclude this section on male homo/bisexual STDs with three short, refreshingly honest quotes from the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association. These were found on its website, http://www.glma.org/, on Nov. 4, 2009, in a document titled "Top 10 Things Gay Men Should Discuss with their Healthcare Provider." (It may still be on the website.)
The quotes: 1) "[M]en who have sex with men are at an increased risk of HIV infection....[T]he last few years have seen the return of many unsafe sex practices."
2) "Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) occur in sexually active gay men at a high rate. This includes...syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, pubic lice,...Hepatitis A, B, or C virus, Human Papilloma Virus, etc."
3) "Gay men may be at risk for death by prostate, testicular, or colon cancer....[And there are] increased rates of anal cancers in gay men."
Regarding lesbians, they face a higher breast cancer risk. One study of lesbians found that: "Sixty-three percent of the lesbians had never been pregnant....[And] Not having children increases a woman's breast cancer risk by between two to six times." Not having children also "may be a risk factor for ovarian cancer and may be implicated in endometrial cancer as well."
Another study found bacterial vaginosis occuring in 33% of lesbians but only in 13% of heterosexual women, and found that: "Cervical cytology abnormalities were uncommon but only found in the lesbians." (Those abnormalities may be precursors to cervical cancers.)
Another study of lesbians found "a relatively high prevalence of the viral STDs, herpes simplex and human papillomavirus [HPV]." And according to another: "Genital HPV infection and squamous intraepithelial lesions are common among women who are sexually active with women." HPV has been connected to cervical cancer. "DNA analysis has revealed that about 15 types of the virus account for more than 99 percent of all cervical cancer cases."’
The following is an excerpt from this article:
‘"The negative consequences of homosexual behaviors are not limited to the physical harms noted above. Compared to their heterosexual peers, homosexual high school students and young adults (fourteen to twenty-one years old) in New Zealand, which has a culture highly tolerant of homosexuality, had significantly higher rates of major depression, generalized anxiety disorder, conduct disorder, nicotine dependence, other substance abuse and/or dependence, multiple disorders, suicidal ideation, and suicide attempts (Fergusson, Horwood, & Beautrais, 1999).
"In general, compared to heterosexually behaving adolescents and adults, having same-sex sexual partners is associated with substantially greater risk for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychological distress, substance use disorders, for suicidal thoughts and suicidal plans, suicide attempts, unstable relationships and lower levels of quality of life …’
Conclusion
The above excerpt shows the appalling level of increased physical and psychological disease, and hence bad life outcomes, that a person takes on when he adopts the LGBT lifestyle. This means by the standards of objective morality, LGBT behavior is in fact highly immoral – consistent with Judeo-Christian philosophy. Therefore, Christians’ objections to LGBT behavior on moral grounds, are objectively sound – they are not esoteric, impractical concerns. What’s more, the above excerpts regarding the physical and psychological risks incurred by people adopting the LGBT lifestyle, underscores the Left’s diabolical scheme of hiding the consequences of living the lifestyle, as they encourage America’s children to adopt it.
