On Monday, May 18, 2020, president Trump announced that he was taking hydroxychloroquine, as a prophylactic against the COVID-19 virus. Immediately, mainstream media, and many on the Left, screamed in protest. But exactly what were they screaming about? That President Trump was taking a dangerous drug, which could negatively impact his health? If the Left really thought that, they would have said nothing – if not cheered him on. No, MSM and others on the Left, were upset, that President Trump put his money where his mouth is, and backed up his previous endorsements of hydroxychloroquine, with personal action. Why would the Left be upset about this? Because they don’t like anything that effectively mitigates the health impact of COVID-19, which does not itself, have an economic cost, or which does not benefit interests on their side (for example, globalist pharmaceutical companies). This can be seen in the overall behavior of the Left wanting COVID-19 to lead to the greatest loss of life, to support their fear narratives. The Left also want COVID-19 to cause as much devastation to the US economy, as possible.

Let’s examine the last two points. Many studies, from apolitical groups, show that hydroxychloroquine in combination with zinc and other medications, have a significant benefit to those given the drugs early, when treating COVID-19. (For example, see here and here.)

[Note: before, most studies, accessible via Google, about hydroxychloroquine and its use for the treatment of COVID-19, were very positive. However, many studies have cropped up on the Google search engine (which has now become blatantly politically biased, and agenda driven) which question the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine - and some even claim that the drug is detrimental. (You have to use more apolitical search engines like duckduckgo.com, to get largely unbiased results.)]

[The studies that show hydroxychloroquine as being non-beneficial, if not dangerous, tend to be executed in a flawed manner, and tend to be from groups acting in a political, or economically biased manner. Many economically biased groups, have a financial stake in alternative drugs, that would benefit them being sold over hydroxychloroquine.]

The Left’s opposition to the use of hydroxychloroquine, in light of it being shown to be a great therapeutic in studies, as well as a great prophylactic (as testified by many healthcare workers) show that the Left want to lessen the drug’s use, and as a result, increase the lethality of COVID-19. This is backed up by policies in New York and Pennsylvania, which ordered nursing homes (which contain the most vulnerable population to COVID-19) to accept residents with the coronavirus, regardless if they cannot adequately segregate them from the rest of the population. COVID-19 as a result, ravaged nursing homes in New York, Pennsylvania, and other Blue (Democrat) states, and is a major reason COVID-19 deaths are much higher in Blue states, than in Red (Republican) states. Even though it has been stated repeatedly that COVID-19 is most deadly to the elderly and those with underlying health conditions, politicians and health officials in Blue states, have either outright ignored this, and have taken no special steps to protect the vulnerable population, or they have seen to it that the most vulnerable population is targeted.

In addition to the above, the CDC released guidelines on how to count COVID-19 related deaths. Individuals who died with COVID-19 in their systems (whether or not COVID-19 was the actual cause of deaths) can be regarded as having died from COVID-19. Then there is the matter of the government telling hospitals to halt revenue sustaining non- COVID-19 care (for example, cancer screenings and treatments), while at the same time rewarding hospitals with $13K for each COVID-19 patient they treat, and $39K for each COVID-19 patient who ends up on a ventilator. The above put tremendous pressure on hospitals to count as many patients as possible, as suffering from COVID-19 (including flu patients), and to morbidly put many patients on ventilators (where they have about an 80% chance of dying in many places like New York), rather than giving them an effective therapeutic such as hydrochloroquine (along with zinc).

Aside from the points mentioned above, which include the Left wanting to increase the amount of COVID-19 deaths, and to skew COVID-19 death counts higher than reasonable, mainstream media in concert with left-wing politicians and health officials, are using COVID-19 death counts and other statistics, to scare the general US population away from wanting to return to work, to salvage our economy, and to prevent future deaths. The Left willfully ignore statistics, such as those that show that for people under 75, the flu is overall more deadly than COVID-19. The Left also willfully ignore strategies, that include protecting and quarantining the vulnerable, while letting everyone else return to work. Instead, many Democrat governors and other politicians, are pushing extended lockdowns, that would decimate their local economies, and contribute negatively to the overall health of the US economy.
