This CDC report, cites the following about COVID-19 deaths in the United States so far:
“For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death.”
Given there have been 161,392 deaths involving COVID-19 so far, that means 6/100 x 161,392 = 9,684 people in the United States, died alone from COVID-19 alone so far. The above is profound, because it means if you are not in the risk group of those who can become seriously ill from COVID-19, your risk from dying from COVID-19, is extremely small.
Let’s do the math. Per this source, there are about 246 million Americans who are 18 years or older. Of those, 90 million have underlying health conditions, including advanced age. This means there are 246M – 90M = 156M adults with no underlying health conditions. This means that the death rate of American adults with no underlying health conditions, due to COVID-19, over the course of almost a year, is 9,684/156M x 100 = 0.006%. Stated another way, if you are an American adult with no underlying health conditions, your chances of dying from COVID-19 are 9,684/156M = 1/16,109.
When it comes to other medical sources, the odds of dying from them over the course of a year are calculated as follows. Taking for example, the case of dying from heart disease. Your odds of dying from heart disease, based on data in the first table from this source, are 647,457/328M = 1/507. (Note: 328M is the current U.S. population. Also, the above calculation is fairly rough/general, and does not factor in risk groups.) The chart below, shows the odds of dying from a number of medical sources, calculated in a similar fashion shown above.
When it comes to non-medical sources, the odds of dying from them over the course of a year are calculated as follows. Taking for example, the case of dying from a motor vehicle accident. Your odds of dying from a motor vehicle accident based on data in the second table from this source, are 39,404/328M = 1/8,324. The chart below, shows the odds of dying from a number of non-medical sources, calculated in a similar fashion shown above.

Let’s examine the above chart. As you can see, dying from COVID-19 over the course of a year, if you are an adult with no underlying health conditions, is significantly less likely than dying from heart disease, diabetes, influenza and pneumonia, a motor vehicle accident, opioids, and poisoning. So then the question is, why did we tank our economy, suspend our constitutional rights, and place impediments to our daily lives for COVID-19, a disease that is significantly less likely to kill us, compared to other to other factors in our daily lives, like the use of motor vehicles? Now you could argue that medical bureaucrats, governors, and mainstream media, did not have this information at the early stages of the pandemic. I’m however sure they had the information early on, and chose to ignore it, because it was politically expedient for them to do so.
I believe the above and other information should be used to file massive lawsuits against the above actors, for destroying the U.S. economy, as well as citizens’ lives and rights. These actors ignored the above and related information, and did not seek to isolate those who are vulnerable to the disease, so that they could implement the least disruptive measures to protect U.S. citizens, as well as the U.S. economy. Instead, the above actors implemented policies they knew would do unnecessary harm to the U.S. population, in order to secure power for themselves, and for other political purposes.
